City Council meeting
The City Council is holding a meeting on March 18 at 12 p.m.
In accordance with Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020, Executive Order modifying certain requirements of Open Meeting Law to enable public bodies to carry out responsibilities while adhering to public health recommendations regarding social distancing, the City Council will be limiting in-person attendance for the above hearings to Councilors and staff.
The public may participate remotely by watching live on Comcast 8/RCN 82/Verizon 1964 or streaming online.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM HIS HONOR, THE MAYOR:
0479 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY20 Community Policing Earmark, awarded by the MA Executive Office of Public Safety & Security to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund community policing activities and programs.
0480 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($140,000.00) in the form of a grant, for the FY20 and FY21 Safe and Successful Youth Initiative, awarded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund a comprehensive interagency strategy that connects law enforcement, employment, education, public health and youth development agencies to reduce youth violence in the Commonwealth. This additional funding increases the total grant to $2,300,000.00 over two years.
0481 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) in the form of a grant for the FY20 First Responder Naloxone Administration Grant, from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the purchase of Naloxone and related supplies for used by the Boston Police Department.
0482 Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend a grant in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($15,600.00) in the form of a grant from the Drug Stewardship Program, awarded by the Medication Education & Disposal-Project to be administered by the Police Department. The grant will fund the collection and disposal of expired and unwanted household medicines.
