Project Goals
The Morton Street and Hopkins Street project is located on two city-owned parcels totaling 34,103 square feet located the Boston neighborhood of Mattapan. The site was formerly the location of a Boston Police Department station that demolished several years ago. The project is also located next to the Morton Street Indigo Fairmount Commuter Rail stop.
The Planning Office for Urban Affairs and Caribbean Integration Community Development has been awarded tentative developer designation for this project site. Their redevelopment proposal involves a new three-story residential building with 38 units of family housing and 42 on-site parking spaces.The project will also include approximately 8,000 s.f. of open space for the Steven P. Odom Serenity Garden, a 1,000 s.f. community room and approximately 2,000 s.f. of retail space.
